Benefits of RSS Marketing

No Comments 03 May 2011

Many online marketers and affiliate marketers use a wide variety of tools to reach their target audience. One way that marketing can be used is with RSS. RSS stands for “really simple syndication” which pulls data from blogs and websites and presents them as news feeds in an excerpt format. Customers use RSS to stay up to date with news and other content that are found on many blogs and websites. Website owners and bloggers can syndicate their posts and content by using an RSS feed, which potentially can reach millions of viewers. Because RSS has the potential to reach so many viewers, marketers use it as a tool to market their products or services.

A lot of marketers use email as a tool to get the word our about their products and services. Email is used for news about sales and discounts as well. The advantage to RSS feeds is the ability to do exactly the same thing that email marketing provides, without having to gather email addresses. In fact, because of the tough spam laws, marketers are turning to Rss feeds as a way to reach their target audience more than they use email marketing strategies. News about sales, product launches, discounts and more are accurately displayed in a RSS feed much like a contextual ad reads with pay per click advertising.

One big advantage to RSS marketing is the ability to look like a contextual ad without having to pay for impressions or clicks. The website owner or blogger’s main duties will be to get readers to subscribe to their RSS feed. Once a reader subscribes to an RSS reed, they will be sent updated information on a daily or weekly time frame. Marketers will market their products and services without having to gather emails and send emails. Marketing will be performed without paying for clicks or impressions and marketers will practice clever sales pitches with their RSS feeds.
